Tim Syrad — wine educator, tasting-club host and wine-holiday organiser — guided members through Portugal's main producing regions in a cosy makeshift venue while the barn roof awaited repair. The whites impressed for elegance and value; the reds, though promising, were judged a touch young, with the exception of a characterful 2014 Alentejo.
