Jonathan Rogers of Vin Wine Merchants in Emsworth presented eight wines in four cross-country pairs to show how terroir, climate and region shape the same grape. Sauvignon Blanc split the room between South Africa and Chile, Marsanne favoured Australia's Tahbilk, while both red pairings sparked debate — with the Pizzorno Marselan from Uruguay emerging as the runaway wine of the night.
