Tony Hill of Bordeaux & Beyond — the online importer he founded on the principle of selling only wines he would happily drink himself — returned to the club with eight wines covering southern France's breadth: three whites from Sancerre to the Rhône, a Champagne quiz interlude, and four reds from Saumur Champigny to Lalande de Pomerol. Twenty members sent him away with a substantial order book despite the modest attendance.
