Club member Andy Finklaire drew on his personal travels — and a well-stocked Calais hypermarket — to present eight wines from Alsace, a region he knows from having a house in neighbouring Burgundy. The selection ran from a biscuity Crémant through classic Riesling and Pinot Gris to a richly scented Vendange Tardive Gewurztraminer, all purchased in France and priced accordingly in euros.
